World Turtle Day Observed with a Powerful Student-led Assembly by KG-2 G
In celebration of World Turtle Day, the young learners of KG-2 G at India International School Sharjah hosted a special assembly to raise awareness about protecting the environment and the urgent need to reduce ...plastic usage.
The assembly, student-led under the dedicated guidance of Mrs. Afreen and Mrs. Anitha, highlighted the importance of marine conservation. The children took on the inspiring role of Ocean Defenders, promoting the 3 R’s — Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle — as essential steps to safeguard sea life, especially turtles.
A thought-provoking one-act play was the highlight of the event, capturing the attention of the entire audience. Through engaging performances, the students conveyed a simple yet powerful message: Throw trash in the right bin — not everywhere. Their heartfelt appeal reminded everyone of their responsibility towards keeping the oceans clean and protecting marine animals.
The assembly served not only as an informative session but also as a call to action for everyone to rethink their daily habits and be more mindful of the environment.
Together, let’s pledge to protect our turtles, preserve our oceans, and reduce plastic pollution — one small step at a time.
